heritage prairie farm vintage bohemian wedding

sarah + rick | elburn, illinois

this Heritage Prairie Farm Rustic Vintage Wedding was a special one for me.  I was sarahs studio assistant when I was living in chicago and she is an amazingly talented family photographer so the pressure was on!  one of my favorite things about sarah is she is so thoughtful.  when it came time for my birthday or christmas I always knew I was in for a treat.  not only are her gifts so incredibly meaningful, her gift wrapping is impeccable as well, and let me tell you, I am a sucker for good packaging! so I basically knew for a fact her wedding details were going to be nothing short of amazing and that they were!

sarah and rick dated for a longgg time before rick popped the question. we always joke that it took him long enough, but nothing could be more perfect on their wedding day.  from the personalized rustic invitations to the vintage china table settings, there was nothing missing from this intimate barn wedding.

I am always so grateful clients that turn into friends, but there is something special about friends who turn into clients.

ps please all take a second and swoon over the back of sarahs dress.  I mean come onnn!!

pps if you are in the chicago area and in the market for some studio family photos, check out sarahs studio: Wildwood Photography

sundance studios intimate outdoor diy wedding

britt + cory | St. Joseph, michigan

Sundance Studios vintage wedding event space in benton harbor, mi.  can we just talk about them for a minute.  I had the privilege to get married at their other venue, The Blue Dress Barn, and they are the most amazingly talented people I have ever met.  Last year was the first year the space was open and it was so fun following along with their renovations.  I could not recommend them enough.  ok no more gushing. promise...

ok maybe some gushing about britt and cory.

I went to college with these two and it has been so fun watching their story evolve.  I talked a little bit about it when I blogged their engagement session here, but long story short they are two of the most kind hearted people I have ever met.  they invest in people so well and I admire that about them.

their intimate diy wedding is one i could relive over and over again.  all of the details, from corys leather tie, to the wooden blocks to hold the rings, to the table numbers were all handmade by cory himself.  but my all time favorite part with working with couples like these two is knowing that long after the wedding is over and the photographs are delivered i will still get to call them friends.  if you want that relationship then i want to work with you!

stafford perry hotel intimate rainy wedding

sarah + drew | petoskey, Michigan

so heres the deal.  sarah and drew are both dentists.  me and dentists are not really on great terms.  if you know anything about me you know that i cry even getting my teeth cleaned. so starting out i was a little unsure if we could make this whole friendship thing work...but then i got to know them. can we just talk about how stinking adorable these two are!?  sarahs smile can illuminate a room and the best part is, it is drew who is usually making her glow like that.  despite the torrential downpour that happened most of their wedding day, these two never lost their glow.  you would have never known between drews jokes and sarahs giggles that a storm was brewing outside the stafford perry hotel.  the phrase of the day was, "its good luck, right!"

these two don't need luck, I think they'll be just fine!

so now my only problem is not if i am going to go to the dentist...but which dentist i am going to visit first!?!

chicago kenmare loft warehouse wedding

michelle + charlie | chicago, illinois

michelle and charlies industrial city wedding at Kenmare Loft had all the feels!  from watching michelle see herself in the mirror as a bride for the first time, to seeing her tear up as she saw the reception venue she worked so hard to make perfect to the moment she was able to finally see her groom after a long morning of getting ready put a huge smile on my face all day.  nothing but joy filled their faces all day long.

i could go back and shoot this one a million times over.  it was perfect
