oh hey!
glad you are here!

my name is o'malley… and yes that is my first name
& I am a michigan girl shooting weddings based
out of central illinois!

heres the heart of what I do

I photograph the kinds of moments you don’t plan for—the breath before the vows, your grandmother’s laugh over breakfast, the teary eye your partner swore they wouldn’t have…again.

It’s presence over performance.
It’s story-first photography.
It’s photos that feel like home.

A family sitting on a rooftop parking lot, eating pizza. The background shows tall buildings and a clear sky.
Four smiling children sitting indoors on a light-colored carpet with an orange wall background.
A black and white photo of a couple standing closely, about to kiss, in front of a building with horizontal siding.

I fell in love with photography the moment I stepped through the revolving door of my high school darkroom. Something about the way the light disappeared and the world transformed under that red glow reminded me of the fantasy books I devoured—transporting. I had always loved art (and of course art supplies) but never quite had the hand for it. Photography came easy, like I was finally speaking a language I had always understood but never had the words for.

I have never been one to enjoy the spotlight—I was drawn to the quiet role of the observer (A+ lip reader over here). Weddings felt like a natural fit. I could stand back, watch the day unfold like a living story.. Not just the big, expected moments, but the small, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it ones: a parent’s quiet pride, a a hand hold under the table or the one your grandparents share right before you start your vows.

And then I became a mom—and suddenly, this work took on even more weight. I see now how fast time moves, how tender and fleeting each chapter is. Photos aren’t just pretty things to frame. They’re time machines. Proof that we were there, that we loved, that it all mattered.

I’m not just here to take pictures. I’m here to make you feel seen. To offer calm in the chaos, presence over pressure, and images that feel like your memories—like home.

If you’re looking for a photographer who feels like an old friend, who brings a planner and snacks and will probably cry at your vows… hi, it’s me.

you have questions, I have answers!

  • Totally normal. You don’t need to know what to do. I guide you gently (no stiff poses) and create space for real connection. Most couples say they forget they are even getting their photos taken.

  • Absolutely. Whether you’re tying the knot in a converted warehouse in central Illinois, eloping in the mountains, or saying “I do” on a northern michigan beach at sunset—I’m there. My passport’s ready, my bags are semi-always packed, and I’ll meet you wherever your story takes you.

  • Through Zoom chats, silly emails, intentional check-ins, and your engagement session. I want to know your story—so when I show up, it feels like a friend walking in, not a stranger.

  • Yes please. Intimate, offbeat, backyard, black-tie or barefoot—I’m here for what feels true to you.

  • true to life with a little moody magic. Think natural skin tones (no orange faces here), and warm tones that still feel clean and honest. My goal is always this: your photos should feel timeless, not trendy.

…and a few out of the box experiments just for fun!

  • Oh man… I really should count. I started photographing weddings back in 2012, so let’s just say: a lot. Enough to know how to read a room, bustle that dress you swore you would remember how to do, calm the timeline chaos, and still catch your dad’s teary smile during the ceremony.

  • Start by filling out my contact form—just a few questions to help me get to know you both and what you’re dreaming up for your day. From there, we’ll hop on a consultation call to chat more about your vision, vibe, and all those “what if we’re awkward?” fears (don’t worry, you won’t be).

After that, I’ll create a custom sample photo timeline based on your preferences, so you can visualize exactly how your day can unfold. When you’re ready to book, I’ll send over your contract and invoice to officially hold your date.

I seriously can’t wait to hear from you!
